EIS 16: Life
This EIS is all about exploring the world around you and learning how what you’ve learned applies to that world. It’s about honing your powers of observation and recognizing that everything you see is part of something bigger than itself and is made up of something smaller than itself. It is an opportunity to see yourself as part of a much bigger--and smaller--system, and truly learn what it means to be alive. For the less poetically-minded, it’s a Scavenger Hunt.
Find one example of each of the following things in your home, neighborhood, local park, or really anywhere. We recommend that you take a picture of it (if possible; alternately, you can draw something, if you can’t see it with the naked eye), since you’ll be asked to briefly describe (in about a sentence) why it is an example of that category.
We encourage you to get creative with this assignment! For example, consider making a decorative poster board, video, or song about the things you’ve found and how they all fit together. Or, do something else even more creative just to prove how boring those ideas were. Try thinking of an out-of-the-box example of each item in your scavenger hunt. Most importantly, have fun! (Strictly speaking, this is not *required*, we just think it would be more fun and more beneficial for your learning if you get creative).
If you create something that you love or find a particularly cool example, we want to see it! If you have an Instagram and the permission of your relevant responsible adult, share with us @eons_learning, #LifeEons.
